Testing E-Commerce Orders

There are times when you may need to test placing an e-commerce order on your staging site. In non-production environments, the Braintree sandbox is used which does not accept real credit cards. To place a test order you can either use one of the testing credit card numbers available from Braintree or the Paypal Sandbox. 

Testing Using A Test Credit Card Number

Successful Transaction

Using any of the below credit card numbers on your staging website should result in a successful order being created.

Failed Transaction

Using any of the below credit card numbers on your staging website should result in the order being declined. Please note, the transaction success is determined by the test amount you use. For example, when testing decline scenarios please use the following transaction amounts. 

Testing Using The PayPal Sandbox

The PayPal sandbox is automatically activated on your staging website. To place an order, just hit the 'PayPal' button at checkout and you'll be prompted to proceed through the sandbox.

Transaction Limits

Note that in the staging environment, different transaction amounts will result in different responses from the credit card processor. Any transaction value below 2000 should be processed successfully.
