This article will run through a checklist of external accounts and processes required before your site goes live.
Optional setup
- Amex: Do you want customers to pay via Amex? If so, you need to enable this in your Braintree account. If not, you must deselect the Display American Express logo on cart and checkout pages? under Configuration > E-commerce Settings.
-
Fraud: There are no fraud detection features built natively into our platform, however, we have an integration built with Kount (operated by Braintree). To enable this, you need to:
- Enable fraud protection within your Braintree account.
- Select Enable Braintree advanced fraud protection? Under Configuration > E-commerce Settings.
- If you would like suspicious orders to be flagged, you will need to create a Kount account and set up your rules (https://www.kount.com/). Your Braintree contact will be able to assist you with setting this up, or have a look at this Braintree support article for more information: https://articles.braintreepayments.com/guides/fraud-tools/advanced/kount-custom. For more information on Fraud, please see this Marketplacer support article: https://support.marketplacer.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038666552-Fraud-Prevention-
-
Social Media:
- Set up social media accounts under Configuration > External Account Settings Social Media. These will appear as icons in your footer and on blog pages.
- Set up Facebook login if you try this on your website under Sign in > Sign in with Facebook > ERROR. To set up Facebook login, follow these steps: https://support.marketplacer.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003924192-Setting-up-a-Facebook-login. If you don't want Facebook login, you need to untick "Enable Facebook Login" under Configuration > External account settings.
- Advertising - Google Ads: We have a banner system native within the platform; however, we're migrating to using Google Ads, and no further work is scheduled in this area. Please find a useful Knowledge Base article on how to set up Google Ads here.
Required setup
- Xero: For the Xero set up, we first need to configure your settings in Admin > Configuration > External Account Settings. This information is in relation to your tax, and we will need you to provide your Account Code (the rest is optional).
- After this, please browse to https://app.xero.com/Application/Add or https://developer.xero.com/myapps?privateAppCreation=true
- In
setup application
select:- Private Application
- Select the organization
- Do not tick
Enable Payroll API for this organisation
- In
We will then generate an API Script, which you will need to enter into the Public Key.
Once you've done this, please kindly send us the Consumer key
and the Consumer Secret.
- Hyperwallet: Once you have registered for Hyperwallet, you will need to send across your credentials, and the product team will add this to your configuration file.
- Testing: Before Go Live, we highly recommend you test a few orders by purchasing products through your platform. Purchase these products a few times through different payment gateways, i.e, order via Credit Card, PayPal, and Afterpay.
- We also recommend you test a refund and ensure your Xero account is set up correctly.
- SEO Redirects: Before providing the DNS records, we need to ensure any SEO redirects have been completed. Now is a great time to start thinking about your SEO and marketing plan. Redirects can be added via Admin > Marketing > SEO Toolkit. Once the redirect is in place, it will be difficult for you to access the content unless you have an XML sitemap or the IP Address.
- DNS: You'll also need to start thinking about changing your DNS records https://support.marketplacer.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004008511-What-is-DNS-.
Marketplacer To-Do:
- Provide you with the DNS records and Sendgrid white label records.
- Site sweep and check that there are no broken links.
- Update any placeholder holder text.
- Remove the password (This is the last step before going live. Let us know when you're ready, and we will action it for you!)
Note: We do not recommend going live on a Friday, as there is less support available over the weekend.
Post Go-live
Once the DNS changes have been completed, Marketplacer will amend the integration code from the .marketplacer
to update the domain.
Note: This is only applicable if the site has an API integration.
