This article will run through how to enable, create, and edit private adverts.
Step 1: Enabling Private Adverts:
To allow Private Ads to be sold on your marketplace, this feature will need to be enabled. To enable this from your admin dashboard, navigate to Configuration > Member Settings and you will find a checkbox "Allow private users to place adverts?" which will need to be enabled. I also recommend enabling "Allow private users to feature adverts?" if you want the ability for these adverts to be 'featured'. You can read more about 'featured adverts' HERE.
Step 2: Configuring Your Pricing Tiers:
Under the same settings (Configuration > Member Settings) you will see an area for Used & New advert pricing tiers.
The listing cost settings allow you to configure the cost a private seller pays to list new and used private adverts placed on your Marketplace within a specified price range. For example, if adverts over $50 cost $5 to list, the 'Advert price from' would be 50.00 and the 'Listing cost' would be 5.00. Typically, cheaper adverts are cheaper to list, and more expensive adverts cost more to list.
Step 3: Start Selling!
Now that everything is set up for a Private Seller to start advertising their new or used products, it's a matter of creating an account and start advertising!
Navigate to your account and click on "create new product advert". Choose a category and fill up the product information. When you are done creating your product you have the option to publish or feature your ad.
FAQ:
