Whenever there is a fulfilment event in BigCommerce, a shipment will be created in Marketplacer. This means:
- If an order containing multiple products or single products with quantities greater than one is partially fulfilled in BigCommerce, those items that were dispatched are marked as shipped in Marketplacer.
- Courier and tracking information is sent to Marketplacer for each shipment. In the event that a single invoice has multiple shipments, they are all viewable from the Marketplacer Seller portal.
- Shoppers receives dispatch notification emails, including tracking information if applicable, as soon as part of their order was shipped. No need to wait until all items on the invoice are marked as shipped in Marketplacer.
Benefits of using the Split shipment support feature
- Harmonised workflow for sellers: For sellers using BigCommerce for fulfilment, there is no need to jump between BigCommerce and the Marketplacer platform to manage their shipments.
- Improved shopper experience: Shoppers dispatch notifications as soon as part of their order has been shipped, which means they no longer have to wait for the entire order to be shipped before receiving communication.
The functionality is automatically enabled and no action is required from either the marketplace operator or seller.
