Apple Pay via Braintree lets buyers check out quickly using Apple devices on Safari. Follow these steps to enable Apple Pay on your Marketplacer marketplace if you already have a Braintree integration.
Note: Apple Pay works only on Safari using Apple devices. Braintree is no longer available for new setups in Australia as of June 2022, but existing integrations can still use Apple Pay.
Configure Braintree sandbox account to enable Apple Pay
- Log in to your Braintree sandbox account.
- Follow the Apple Pay setup instructions on the Braintree developer site.
- Enter your full domain name, including “www” if applicable, when verifying your domain.
- Skip step 9 of the Braintree guide because Marketplacer already handles that part.
- Complete the remaining Apple Pay setup steps as directed in Braintree.
Enable Apple Pay in Marketplacer admin
- Sign in to the Operator portal.
- Go to CONFIGURATION > Payment Methods.
- Click Braintree to open the credentials page.
- Select the checkbox labeled Enable Apple Pay.
- Click Save settings to apply the change.
Test the Apple Pay Setup
- Confirm that Apple Pay appears at checkout for Safari users with supported Apple devices.
- Test the checkout process in your sandbox environment to verify Apple Pay works correctly.
- Repeat testing in the production environment to ensure the setup functions as expected for buyers.
