MPay Payout Computation process
MPay automatically calculates and splits each order based on configurable Commission or Cost-Plus models. It accounts for commissions, merchant fees, payout processing fees, refunds, cancellations, and taxes to ensure accurate payouts. During this process, the operator’s commission and margin are determined and applied.
Settlement Process
- Collection (Acquisition): Customer purchases are processed by the Operator's acquiring PSP (Payment Service Provider). Funds are transferred (remitted) as a 'Collection' to the MPay Operator Holding Account (escrow).
- Fund Splitting: All funds are split from the Holding Account to the relevant Connected Accounts (Operator and Seller).
- Operator Commission: The Operator receives their commission (e.g., 10%), which is configurable per seller, into the Operator Connected Withdrawal Account. This commission is then transferred to the Operator account upon payout occurrence. Additionally, the operator may be charged a per order payment processing fee. Depending on the transfer method chosen by the operator and seller, a payment transfer fee may also apply for each payout..
- Seller Payout: The Seller receives their funds (e.g., 90% funds), minus MPay processing fees, into the Seller Connected Withdrawal Account.
Payout Delay Process
- The Operator sets a pre-configuration on payout delay at the Operator level.
- Once this time has passed, funds in the Connected Accounts are paid.
- The delay is configurable based on individual seller settings.
- Payout calculation includes adjustments for returns, cancellations, and amendments.
