Add and update catalogs in SFCC

After understanding the new custom objects that will be created, you can add and update catalogs in SFCC.

There are two types of Catalogs in SFCC. The Master catalog represents the entire product portfolio for the SFCC Relm and site-specific Storefront catalogs that store the Categories and the Category > Product assignments in the context of a specific business site or channel.

Keep in mind that a business channel/Site in SFCC is not always specific to a SFCC rendered user experience.

For the integration to work, you need to create a new master catalog as well as update the Storefront catalog.

Create a new master catalog

You need to create a new Master catalog called marketplacer-m-catalog for storing Marketplacer products. 

1. Create the new Master catalog in SFCC and call it marketplacer-m-catalog.
2. Go to the Image Settings tab.
3. Set the Image Location to External.
4. Enter the URLs for the Marketplacer domain. You can get these from Marketplacer. 
5. Add View Types of large, medium, small, and swatch.
6. Set the default image values as:
   • Default Image Alt : ${productname}
   • Default Image Title : ${productname}
7. Your screen should look like below. Save the changes.

After completing the steps above, configure catalog import jobs in SFCC.
