The performance insights dashboard shows key sales, orders, products, and seller insights. You can see at a glance how your marketplace is performing for a particular period.
Using the dashboard, operators will be able to perform the following:
- Check the value of your recent sales and commission, and compare them to a previous period.
- Track your average order value and number of transacting sellers at any given time.
- View a breakdown of top and bottom-performing sellers across total sales, commission, average order value, number of orders, refunds, and delayed shipments.
- Check the number of orders and refunds in a given period.
- Check the number of orders that were dispatched on time or delayed.
- View the number of unique SKUs sold.
- Monitor the trends over time.
- Review product insights per product, category, or brand in a selected period.
The metrics are shown in numeric format and also as graphs where appropriate. For many of the metrics, the percentage change from the previous date range can also be shown.
Locate the dashboard
The Performance dashboard is available to all operators and is located in the operator portal under Reports > Performance Insights.
Metrics covered in the dashboard
The dashboard covers two performance areas which are accessible via the tabbed navigation:
Sales: Financial performance of the Marketplace as a whole and top/bottom 10 sellers.
Operation: Operational performance of the Marketplace as a whole and top/bottom 10 sellers.
Date range selection & comparison
Date range
Each of the areas allows you to select a date range, using "from" and "to" date fields, to produce the metrics for the specific period.
Compare to setting
Select this option to compare your data to another date range to one of the:
- Previous Period: an equal amount of days immediately before the selected date range. For example, if the date range selected is 13/03/2023 to 19/03/2023 the comparison period is set to 6/03/2023 to 12/03/2023.
- Same period last year: compare the metrics from this period to the last year’s metrics. For example, if the date range selected is 13/03/2023 to 19/03/2023 the comparison period is set to 13/03/2022 to 19/03/2022.
The comparison results appear as a color-coded % of variation next to each metric to indicate if the metric has improved or declined.
Sales insights
Total order value
The sum of all invoice values in the selected period.
Note: This value does not take into account any refunds or adjustments.
Commission
The sum of all commissions charged by the marketplace operator in the selected period.
Number of Sellers
Number of unique sellers that transacted in the selected period.
Average order value
Total order value divided by the total number of orders in the selected period.
Metrics chart
Displays a time series (chart view) of the selected metric for the selected period and the period being compared to. The X axis is the time and its granularity is adjustable using Day, Week, Month, and Year buttons above the chart.
Seller sales performance
Displays up to 10 top and bottom-performing sellers based on the metric that you select, by clicking the arrow next to the column header. You can sort sellers by Total order value, Commission, Average order value, and number of unique orders in the selected period. Select the Same period as the above checkbox to filter the seller sales performance on the same dates you selected in the date picker above.
Operational insights
Similar to the Sales metrics tab, a chart with key metrics is shown at an operator level for the selected period. Operators can use this tab to track the operational health of their Marketplace and identify operationally the overperforming and the underperforming sellers.
Orders
Number of orders created in the selected period.
Refunds
Number of refunds and cancellations created in the selected period.
Total Dispatches
Number of shipments dispatched in the selected period.
Over 24hr Dispatches
Number of shipments in the selected period where the time difference between order placement and item dispatch is greater than 24 hours.
Unique Products sold
Number of unique variants (SKUs) that were sold during the selected period.
Seller operational performance
Displays up to 10 top and bottom-performing sellers based on the metric that you select. You can sort sellers by Total orders, Refunds, and Over 24-hour Dispatches by a given seller in the given period. Select the Same period as the above checkbox to filter the seller sales performance on the same dates you selected in the date picker above.
Product insights
The product insights tab shows the top and bottom performing products per product itself, per category, and per brand in a given period you selected. These are the fields you can find in the Products, Categories, and Brands sections of the Products tab:
Quantity
This field shows the quantity of products sold, products sold per category, and products sold per brand.
Total
This field shows the total amount of products sold, products sold per category, and products sold per brand.
Avg. Order Values
This field shows the average amount of products ordered, products ordered per category, and products ordered per brand.
Change $
If you select the Compare to checkbox, then you can monitor if there are changes in the average order value in the period you selected compared to the average order value in the same period last year or the previous period.
If the value in this column is “New”, that means there are no values recorded in the previous period being compared to the period you selected.
Commission
The total commission that is calculated per product sold, products sold per category, and products sold per brand.
Change %
If you select the Compare to checkbox, then you can monitor if there are changes in the commission rate of the product sold in the period you selected compared to the commission rate of the product sold in the same period last year or the previous period.
If the value in this column is “New”, that means there are no values recorded in the previous period being compared to the period you selected.
