As an operator admin, the Activity Logs feature helps you track and trace the system-generated and user-generated changes across your Marketplace, such as editing orders, sellers, or user data.
When you select the Show filters button, you can set filters to narrow down your search by this information:
- Record ID: A unique identifier assigned to a specific activity for tracking and reference.
- Date: The calendar date when the activity occurred.
- Time: The exact time when the activity took place.
- Event: A descriptive label indicating the nature or category of the activity (for example, created, updated).
- Type: Specifies the type of action or entity involved in the activity (for example, attachment upload, AppConfig change).
- User: The unique ID of the user responsible for or associated with the activity.
- Name: The full name of the user linked to the activity.
- User Type: The role or classification of the user involved in the activity.
- Source: The origin or method through which the activity was triggered (for example, Import/Export tool, GraphQL API).
You can also export the result by clicking the Export results button.
Review your Activity Logs
- Sign in to the operator portal.
- Select Reporting > Activity Logs. A list of all the activities on your site is displayed on the Activity Logs page.
- To view the changes, click the arrow icon. You can see the changes applied to a particular field in the New column and the original state in the Previous column.
Search for advert or variant changes
You can find the product changes through relevant IDs. Note that changes are tracked depending on which level the change is applied to (advert level or variant level).
For example:
- Advert: changes to advert price, vetted, taxon id, brand id, published
- Variant: changes to variant price or stock
- From the Activity Logs page, enter an advert or variant ID in the search field.
- Optionally, specify the type by:
- Clicking Show filters.
- Setting the type to Advert or Variant as appropriate.
Note: This is not required because the chances of searching for one of these IDs bringing up something else is low, but it’s not 0%.
Examples
These examples show some scenarios where the activity logs can be used.
Scenario 1: Change in seller information
An admin changed the Business Name in SELLERS > Manage Sellers.
In this example, the change is initiated on January 31, 2024, at 12:21 PM. Additionally, user 424, which is an admin, updated the seller information. Upon clicking the arrow icon, you can review the details of the change. In this scenario, the original value of the Business name field is “Merchant Gab” which is updated to “Merchant KB”.
Scenario 2: Rejecting an advert for vetting through GraphQL
In this example, the advert is rejected at 4:04 PM on the 19th of January 2024 through GraphQL, as specified in the Source column, by user 420 who has an admin user type.
The advert that was previously approved for vetting is rejected and is no longer displayable in the marketplace with a rejection reason - “Test”.
