The Marketplacer Accelerator (Cerberus) syncs your Marketplacer vertical to an external Shopify Plus platform, which enables multi-vendor commerce on your Shopify Plus instance from a single Marketplacer backend.
The products and variants are displayed on the integrated Shopify when they are created by a seller on Marketplacer. There is a setting in Cerberus that enables you to publish products to the "Online Sales Channel" automatically. This means the products will appear on the storefront immediately without operator intervention. Orders on the storefront are synced back to Marketplacer for the seller to complete. When the order is marked as “shipped” on Marketplacer, the item on Shopify is updated to “fulfilled”. The tracking link has been added to the fulfillment.
Workflows
These are the default workflows:
- Syncs Sellers from Marketplacer to Shopify Plus.
- Syncs adverts and variants from Marketplacer to Shopify Plus.
- Updates adverts and variants from Marketplacer to Shopify Plus.
- Automatically publish adverts and variants to the Online Sales Channel.
- Syncs orders from Shopify Plus to Marketplacer.
- Syncs Shipments from Marketplacer to Shopify Plus.
- Syncs approved refund from Marketplacer to Shopify Plus.
Accelerator Flow
The diagram below shows the default flows of Marketplacer (Core), Cerberus, and Shopify Plus Store. Changes to these flows would take place in Cerberus. The flow depends on the changes an SI or Technical Partner determines and makes.
Technical Limitations
This integration does not support the following:
- Order modification.
- Promotions and coupons.
- Configurable meta fields. Does support some custom mapping on products and variants.
- Shopify Plus only allows up to 3 options per product, for example, size, color, and style. Refer to this Shopify article for more information.
- Shopify Plus only allows 100 variants per product.
- Does not support two-way syncing for adverts, variants, sellers, and shipments. The changes to the Markertplacer data should be made in Marketplacer. If changes are made to Marketplacer data in Shopify Plus, they will be overridden in subsequent sync.
Notes:
- Marketplacer (Cerberus) can support certain products (advert) and variant metafields through custom mapping features. We only support single-line and the number-custom metafields from Shopify. The SI/Technical Partners configure/implement this as required.
- Shopify Plus may have other limitations not mentioned above. We recommend operators work with SI/Technical Partners to validate all requirements during scoping to understand the implications that might affect implementation.
