Answers to common questions about why a user-defined catalog transformation isn't behaving as expected.
Why isn't my rule applying to this advert?
This is usually one of three things:
- The seller has reached their per-seller fair-use limit for the beta period
- The product is blocked by catalog rules and hasn't reached the transformation stage yet
- The transformation is still processing
Why was my instruction blocked?
Every instruction is checked for safety when you save or test your rule. If an instruction is blocked, it may conflict with content safety guidelines (for example, hateful, insulting, sexual, or violent content). Edit or remove the flagged instruction and try again.
Can I have two AI rules on the same field?
No. Each attribute (Product Title or Product Description) can have one user-defined transformation rule, but that rule can hold multiple instructions, run in the order you set.
I saved and it asked me to save again, why?
If a new instruction overlaps with or contradicts a preset transformation already enabled on the same field, this is intended to show a conflict warning rather than an error. Review the options presented, then save again if you want to proceed unchanged.
How long until I see the change?
Transformations run in the background and are not instant. Changes are processed in batches, at predetermined intervals.
Who's responsible if the AI gets it wrong?
You are. Unlike preset transformations, a user-defined rule is authored and owned by you. Marketplacer does not review or validate the instructions you write. You're responsible for reviewing all AI-generated output before it's published to a listing, which is why you must acknowledge this before saving a rule.
Why is my new product not showing up yet?
A newly-published product with a pending transformation waits for the transformation to complete before it becomes displayable or appears in vetting. An already-live product stays live while a transformation reprocesses.
