Edit products (adverts) in bulk as a seller

For making changes to multiple products in Marketplacer, you can edit your full product list in a spreadsheet and then upload the file to make the changes. This is more efficient than editing products manually.

You might do this, for example, to rename or update multiple product descriptions or details.

If you also manage products via an integration with Marketplacer

If you manage products via an integration with Marketplacer, such as in Shopify or WooCommerce, you can use this editing process to:

• add product details that are not part of your integration data sync, but that are required to sell into the marketplace. This is also called ‘enrichment’. 
• map products between Marketplacer and your integrated product platform, where the bulk mapping tool does not work.

Cautions for sellers with integrations

• We recommend that you force a new data sync job in your integrated platform immediately after uploading changes in bulk. This helps ensure product stock levels remain accurate across both platforms. 
• Do not add any new products or variants via this method. 
• If using this method to ‘enrich’ product information, check with the marketplace operator to find out which data they have set to be overridden when sync takes place.

Step 1: Download and edit the existing product list

1. Log in to the Seller Portal.
2. Go to Products > Bulk Products Upload.
3. In the Download a spreadsheet section, select the file format between XLSX or CSV.
   
   Note: Using CSV may corrupt special characters in the title, description, or other details. We recommend you use XLSX.
   
4. Under the label Existing ads, select Download. This downloads a list of your current products.
5. Open the file in a spreadsheet program. If you are unfamiliar with the spreadsheet layout,  see About the bulk product upload spreadsheet.
6. Open the spreadsheet and update the products. 
7. Save the file for uploading.

Step 2: Upload edited products to the seller portal

1. Go back to the Seller Portal.
2. Select Products > Bulk Products Upload.
3. Go back to the Bulk Upload Products page in the Seller Portal. 
4. Click Upload spreadsheet and select the file you updated.

5. Choose whether to override existing product data:

   • If you are adding new products, do not select the checkbox that removes existing products and variants.

   • To manage all your products and replace all data, select the option to remove all existing product and variant data.

6. Click Upload.
7. To monitor the status and check if there are import errors, scroll down to the Recent Import History section. 
   
   Note: If errors occur, you can fix them directly in the product list or edit the spreadsheet and re-upload. See Troubleshooting bulk product uploads.
