MConnect supports linking adverts and variants to Golden Records when creating new products in Marketplacer. If matches are found the newly created adverts and variants are backfilled with data from the product database.
To use this feature, sign in to a seller’s account and select these options in the MConnect settings page:
- Use information from the product database to create variants and products if a barcode match is found
- Allow matching items against the product database via the SKU field

If this option is enabled, the system checks if an existing barcode in the CPD matches the unique barcode of a newly created variant. If a barcode match is found, the newly created variant is linked to the CPD golden variant with matching barcode (if vetting is enabled, the link will only be established at the point of vetting).

The following attributes on adverts and variants created via M-Connect will be populated from the Golden Records in the CPD (whenever the MConnect product import job is run and the regular backfill schedule):

If this option is enabled, the system checks if a SKU of an existing variant in the CPD matches the SKU of a newly created variant. If a match is found, then the newly created variant is linked to the CPD golden product’s variant with matching SKU.
