When you’ll see this
You’ll see AI assisted matching when:
- Your product has at least one variant barcode, and
- That barcode matches a Golden Record barcode in CPD.
The AI compares your product details against the Golden Record, including title, description, brand, images, and variant level details (like option values).
AI verdicts and what they mean
The AI returns a simple verdict to keep the workflow clear:
- Same: The product matches the Golden Record. The seller can continue toward publishing (subject to normal vetting rules).
- Different: The product does not match the Golden Record. The seller can still publish, but we recommend they resolve the discrepancy.
Understand the status messages
You’ll see one of these statuses in Manage Products > Matched Products under the AI Match? column.
- Green check icon (
): No product mismatches found.
- Red X icon (
): There's a potential mismatch in this product.
Fix a mismatch
- In the Seller Portal, go to Products > Manage Products.
- Click the Matched Products tab.
- Click the red X icon to open the AI comparison results view.
- Compare the fields the AI flagged. Focus on the common mismatch areas: product title, brand, description, images, and variant options and values.
- Update your product data so it matches the actual item tied to the barcode. Edit the product (and the affected variants) to correct the differences.
- Save your changes, then submit again. The status should return to processing, then update to either mismatch found or no mismatches found.

Does this merge Golden Records
No. This check is about validating your product before it links to an existing Golden Record.
What if my product doesn’t have a barcode
Products without barcodes aren’t covered by this. The barcode match is what triggers the AI-assisted check.
