Brand mapping is part of AI Product Mapping (Beta). It automatically matches the brand names in your product catalog against the brands available on the marketplace, and maps confident matches on your behalf.
Note: Brand mapping is available when your marketplace operator has enabled AI-Powered Product Mapping (Beta). Contact your operator if you don't see Product Mapping in your Seller Portal.
How brand mapping works
When you sync your catalog, Product Mapping reviews each of your brand names against the marketplace's brand catalog. Brands it can match with confidence are mapped automatically and appear in your Mapped brands tab. Brands it can't confidently match land in Unmapped brands for you to action manually. Product Mapping remembers every mapping and applies it automatically to future products, so your brand data stays consistent across ongoing imports.
What each tab is for
- Unmapped brands: Brands from your source data that couldn't be auto-matched. For each brand, you can map it to an existing marketplace brand, request a new brand for the operator to review, or skip brands that don't belong on the marketplace.
- Mapped brands: All brands that have been matched, tagged by how they were mapped: Auto-mapped, Manually mapped, or Approved request. Review and re-map anything that doesn't look right.
- Brands requested: Every brand request you've submitted and its current status: Approved, Rejected, or Restricted. When a request is approved, the brand is added to the marketplace and your unmapped row maps to it automatically.
Key features
- Search: Search by brand name across any tab.
- Sub-filters: Filter by mapping source (Manually mapped, Approved request) on the Mapped brands tab, or by request status (Approved, Rejected, Restricted) on the Brands requested tab. On Unmapped brands, filter to show only brands with denied requests.
- Products count: Each brand row shows how many of your products are associated with that brand.
Enabling brand mapping
Brand mapping is enabled by your marketplace operator. To turn it on, the operator goes to Configuration > Account Settings and selects Enable AI-Powered Product Mapping (Beta). This enables the full Product Mapping suite, including brand mapping.
