This topic is for sellers who use Shopify to send product information to Marketplacer.
When a new product (advert) or variant is imported into Marketplacer, some product data must be added before the product (advert) can be published.
This is expected because:
- The product structure in Marketplacer differs from the one in Shopify, so the Category must be set manually.
- Brands not already defined in Marketplacer must be added before they can be matched automatically.
- Option types and variants need to be configured individually.
Published products (adverts) may need to be vetted and approved before they are available to shoppers.
There are three ways to edit the product data. Choose what best suits your needs.
Method | Why would you use this method? | See this topic |
Manually edit products (adverts) in the seller portal. | Best approach for small product sets. | Review and fix product errors as a seller |
Upload a CSV/XLS file in the seller portal. | Best approach for large product sets and adding missing data. | Bulk upload |
Use the bulk mapping tool | This approach updates selected products (adverts), and sets up rules that transform values in every subsequent import. The source value will automatically be changed to the value defined by the rule during the import process. For this approach to work effectively, you must have high-quality data. The values in the products in your Shopify store must always match the values in the rules you have defined via the bulk mapping tool. |
