MConnect is a software that enables retailers to sync products, inventory, and order information between their Marketplacer account and third-party platforms such as BigCommerce, Maropost Commerce Cloud, Lightspeed, and more.
Set up MConnect
Access the integrations manager by following the steps in these articles:
- Accessing Integrations Manager through Seller Portal 2.0
- Accessing the Integrations Manager through the legacy Seller Portal
These steps take you to the MConnect platform and prompt you to connect to a third-party system. You can select from a range of connectors such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Maropost Commerce Cloud, Lightspeed, and other connectors. Based on what connector you selected, you must configure the settings and provide authentication details such as API access details for that service.
Syncing Products (Adverts)
After you create your MConnect account, you are prompted to run an initial import of items (adverts). Running an initial import fetches advert details from the third-party service, and uploads them to the seller's account. If there are any issues with the data you imported, you can view the errors in the Imports menu in MConnect and you can correct them in the third-party platform.
After you imported these items, you can see some of the details on the Items page:
Mapping Products
After running an initial import, you must map the product data using the seller mapping tool. Start with mapping Brands and Categories, then move on to mapping the Option Types (features & variants). Adverts are often unpublished, with issues that need to be corrected before publishing, which can be solved by mapping the product data using the mapping tool or manually editing each advert within the My Adverts page in the Seller Portal.
See this article for more information on Marketplacer's mapping tool.
Updating Products (Adverts)
MConnect imports new products (adverts). Based on the configuration, MConnect keeps all these advert data in sync with the third-party platforms: price, inventory, description, and other data.
Updating your products manually through the bulk upload CSV, the Seller API, or editing the advert in the seller portal is not recommended because you might override the information synced from the third-party platform with outdated information. Instead, we recommend that when you perform bulk updates through CSV files, remove any columns from the CSV that do not contain changes so that imported data is not overridden.
