Before sellers can offer wholesale pricing in Marketplacer, operators must first enable wholesale features at the seller level and define how wholesale pricing is handled. This article explains how to configure seller settings, enforce pricing rules, and track wholesale price changes.
Enable wholesale for a Seller
To activate wholesale functionality for a seller:
- Go to Sellers > Manage Sellers from the left nav dashboard.
- Find the seller you want to enable wholesale for.
- Click the edit button next to the seller’s account name.
- Scroll to the Wholesale Preferences section.
- Choose from the following options:
-
Display wholesale fields (reporting only): Shows wholesale and Recommended Retail Price (RRP) fields on adverts and variants. This enables sellers to include wholesale pricing in their export data, without affecting financial documents.
- Enable wholesale functionality for sellers: Allows sellers to mark products or variants as wholesale. Wholesale pricing will be used in remittance calculations and financial documents, regardless of the final sale price.
- Enable immutable wholesale pricing. Allows the wholesale price to be editable by sellers until the advert is approved and ready for sale.
- Display wholesale promotional fields (reporting only): Displays wholesale promotional fields on variants and adverts, including promo start and end dates. This setting is used for internal reporting or planning, not document generation.

Note: To generate wholesale invoices and remittance documents, the seller must have Enable wholesale functionality for sellers selected.
Handle mixed wholesale and retail orders
Marketplacer supports a mix of wholesale and retail items from the same seller in a single order. The order splits into two separate invoices.
- If a customer orders both wholesale and retail items from the same seller, the order proceeds and generates two invoices.
- Ordering a wholesale item from one seller and a retail item from another seller is allowed, as separate invoices are generated per seller.
Track wholesale price changes in vetting
If wholesale is enabled, changes to the wholesale item price field will:
- Appear in the Recently updated tab during product vetting
- Trigger webhook events (if configured)
This allows operators to monitor changes in agreed pricing after product approval.
Note: Use this to enforce pricing consistency with wholesale partners.
Lock wholesale pricing after approval
If Enable immutable wholesale pricing is turned on for a seller, the seller can edit the wholesale price up until the product is approved and ready for sale. Once approved, only the operator can edit it.
Note: This lock applies after approval only, and only when Enable immutable wholesale pricing is enabled. Price changes made before approval are still tracked in the Recently updated tab and trigger webhook events, as described above.
